I came to this book after discovering author Ryan Majeske via his YouTube channel, PrimetimePokemon. Majeske is one of the most respected and knowledgeable authorities on Pokemon Trading Cards in the world. He is sincere and passionate about collecting and the Pokemon community. As another reviewer notes, the book delivers on its promise to be the best Pokemon Trading Card Game reference available. It features all current TCG expansion sets, every ultra rare and secret rare cards, experts collecting tips, most valuable cards on the secondary market, and checklists for every expansion set. The book has a hardcover, glossy color pages, quality pictures of cards throughout and is almost 400 pages. Very impressive. Highly recommend for Pokemon fans of all ages. It is a good thick hardcover book. Good production with a lot of great information and a great beginner guide to collecting or just keeping track of your cards. Definitely don't consider it to be a value guide, though. This book came out in 2017, which doesn't seem that long ago, but given what these cards are going for only 4 years later, it is hilariously out of date. It also does not price every card listed. Only a very small number of the most sought after cards are priced, and they are highly incorrect. I didn't realize how much the value of these had skyrocketed recently. For example, it says a PSA 10 graded Base Set 1st Edition holographic Charizard (probably the most sought after card ever) is only worth $650. That may have been true 4 years ago, but they have sold for over $10,000 recently. Same story with any of the few priced cards in this book. Look up the sold listings for them on eBay and you will see how much the hobby has exploded in the past few years.
